Tour program

Day 1

Departure from Treviso by coach in direction of Possagno. Upon arrival, guided visit to the famous Antonio Canova Gypsotheca, that holds the plasterworks of the greatest neoclassical sculptor. Afterwards, a short stroll to the nearby Canova Temple before leaving to the nearest historic centre of Asolo, Eleonora Duse’s homeland. The town has a medieval appearance, surrounded by the ancient walls and overlooked by the fortress. You will have a delightful stroll through the suggestive streets in the historic centre, with frescoed buildings and houses, gothic arched porticoes and lovely flowered balconies.

Lunch with typical products in a local restaurant.

In the afternoon, the tour proceeds with the visit to Villa Barbaro in Maser. Designed around 1550 by the famous architect Andrea Palladio and frescoed by the equally renowned painter Veronese, it became UNESCO World heritage in 1996.

Dinner and overnight in hotel in Treviso.

Day 2

Departure from Treviso by coach in direction of Malcontenta and boarding on a tourism boat, which allows you to admire the Villas from the River Brenta. Stop in Mira to visit Villa Widmann. Then you proceed navigating through villages and swing bridges until Dolo.

Seafood lunch in a local restaurant in Dolo and short stroll in this delightful village.

In the afternoon, you proceed the navigation until Stra. Guided visit to Villa Pisani and pleasant walk in its huge, wonderful park.

Return trip by coach. Dinner and overnight in hotel in Treviso

Day 3

Departure by coach to Lughignano, where begins the tour. You can choose between a bike tour or a kayak experience.

Whatever you will choose, you proceed along the River Sile in a breathtaking itinerary surrounded by the green lung of River Sile Regional Natural Park.

On board of the safest sit-on-top kayak or riding a bike in direction of Casale sul Sile, you will cross an are rich in history among precious Venetian Villas located on the riverbank surrounded by a wonderful natural landscape. An open-air museum which tells of the splendors of Serenissima. The Villas that you will find along the river are real gems with their neoclassical columns and capitals, porticos and decorative stucco. Just to mention the most famous: Villa Barbaro Valier (now Battaggia), Villa Fanio Cervellini, Villa Barbaro Gabbianelli e Villa Dalla Riva (now Canzian).

Halfway through the route you certainly cannot miss a well-deserved break in one of the riverside taverns, where you can taste a delicious aperitif with cicchetti or have lunch with their traditional Venetian specialties.

Once in Casale sul Sile, return trip to Lughignano by bike (those who chose the kayak experience will drop off the kayak and will find the bikes directly in Casale sul Sile).
